Membership in the Virginia Star Quilt Guild is open to anyone 18 years of age and older. We offer a trial membership for $25.00.

The membership term is 12 months,

from May 1 – April 30. Each member receives a membership card, guild roster,and a copy of the By-Laws.

Annual dues

$25 for May 1 – April 30.

$12.50 from November 1 – April 30.

The monthly newsletter is sent via e-mail. It contains birthday greetings, announcements, details about upcoming events, and other information!

Meetings

General meetings are held once a month.

Old and new business is discussed, announcements are made, and ideas are presented.

Show and Tell

Share your finished (and unfinished) projects with fellow guild members!

Snacks

Socialize with fellow members! Members volunteer to provide snacks, drinks, and ice.

Programs

Programs consist of speakers, demonstrations, classes, trunk shows, community projects, and occasionally quilt-related games. The topic is published in the newsletter along with any supplies/homework required. Participation is not mandatory, but is encouraged.

The Annual Quilt Show

Planning for the show begins a year in advance in the summer. There are several categories, including one for the yearly theme and one for quilts under 40″ in diameter.

Charity Quilts

  • Baby quilts for the NICU at Mary Washington Hospital.
  • Lap quilts for the Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging.
